Welcome everyone to OATH News. I am your best buddy Scribbles! I haven't done one of these in a while because I've been wicked busy working on some really neat new projects! I can't tell you much about them right now but when they launch they will knock your socks off! I've got some tidbits for ya in the meantime. So...letsgo!
• Our top story is Reo Ojima's injury! The former World Champion had his arm broken by the new champion Locke Helms at Brutalism. There is no timeline for The Stone Gargoyle's recovery but he will be out for the foreseeable future. I'd wish him a speedy recovery but he's a big jerk so...frig him! I'm sure that Oscar Barlow was happy to see Ojima's arm get broken because Ojima broke BOTH of Mr. Barlow's arms in the spring of last year! Karma my man!
• From what I understand, Helms' first defence of the OATH World Champion is scheduled for February 28th at Conviction L: Last Resort when he puts it on the line against Number One Contender Leah Aguero!
• Another match that has been made official for Last Resort is a Tag Team Championship rematch! The champs Sweet Treats are gonna put the straps up against former champions Super Kawaii Thunder Liger Squadron! Their first match was an absolute BANGER so I expect that this one will be just as good...or better! I just love both of these teams so I can't wait.
• Speaking of Last Resort, I've been trying my best to get some info on Isla Desconocida, the island where this event is going to take place. So far all I know is that Barlow Holdings literally owns the island and that they are sparing no expense to provide a safe and incredible venue for this very special episode of Conviction. I have heard rumblings of multiple beach bars so I am buzzing about that.
• The Tabula Rasa Championship changed hands on Conviction XLVII when El Diablo Blanco was able to defeat James Edwards. I'm hearing that El D will announce his chosen stipulation for his TR Title defences at Conviction XLVIII ahead of his big Champion vs. Champion Match against Locke Helms.
• Although James Edwards lost the TR Title, his reign was both the longest and he had the most successful defences! So good for The Burning Heart! I expect that once he has sorted his issues out with Johnny Draco and Tiffany Lynn Page that he'll have gold again. The question is, what gold? Guy is a viable challenger for all of the OATH singles titles right now.
• If we're talking records then we've gotta talk about Livewire Champion Kasey Kash! Next week on Livewire 20 he goes for his fifth successful defence -- which would be record breaking! Not only that but if he wins then he also banks himself a future Tabula Rasa Championship Match. His match against Benjamin Macbeth will have many implications so I can't wait for that one. Heck, under the new rules, he only needs to defend it ten more times to get Intrepid and World Title Matches! With all of the help that he has been receiving from his Murk Squad buddies that is a real possibility!
