OATH Pro Wrestling is hybrid federation. We were originally an angle federation but that label did not properly define how we operate. Below is a description of the process of joining OATH and how to succeed with your character(s). We highly encourage that you develop a relationship with staff members and discuss what you would like to do with your character(s).
• APPLICATIONS •
If you are interested in joining OATH then go to our Singles Application and fill it out in its entirety. Should you want to join as a tag team, please fill out Singles Applications for each respective character and then move to fill out a Tag Team Application.
• TRYOUT MATCH •
Following the signing announcement, you will be booked on the next available card. This is your "tryout match". The match will be against an enhancement talent on the Kickoff Show and is usually a guaranteed victory. All you have to do is promote the match on Twitter using the show specific hashtag to win. We use the tryout to see if you are invested in participating. Should you not promote the match at all, you will not be signed to a full contract.
• FULL CONTRACT •
If you are successful in your tryout match, you will be announced as a full signing in the next following days. From there you will be booked on Livewire and be able to compete for championships, develop storylines, etc. We do our best to get people into storylines immediately but if you have any ideas on how to best debut your character then please contact Staff.
• PARTICIPATION •
Victories can never be guaranteed. OATH staff write shows to develop storylines and feuds in the best way that they can conceive. You can push staff in the direction that you want your match to go using the following tools. None of these are mandatory (save for promoting your tryout match) but the more you do, the more likely it is that you will reach your goals. The following is a least of three ways to participate.
- Selling: Using Twitter you can respond to what has happened on shows and we get a sense for what direction to take your character.
- Show Submissions: A great way to get your character over is to submit spots and character ideas for your match. They do not have to be elaborate or even numerous, just give us an idea of what you want to do in the ring. You can submit spots weekly using the following form OATH Show Submissions.
- Segments: You can submit full segments or segment stubs (which is an idea for a segment) to staff for each and every show. This is a great way to show staff exactly what you want to do with your character. These can be any event that takes place on the show be it; a run in, a video segment (not in the arena), a backstage segment, etc. Segments may be edited/altered to suit the flow of the show.
The deadline for promoting, spots, and segments are:
- Conviction, Catalyst, iPPV: Saturday at 11:59pm EST.
- Livewire: Tuesday at 11:59pm EST.
• STORYLINES •
OATH Staff are always open to discuss storylines and angles. Our desire is to help you portray your character in the way that you envision them. Dialogue with staff about your character, respond to events that happen within the results, and interact with your peers on Twitter. Our ultimate goal is to give you an engaging experience and a fun world for your character to be a part of.
• MULTIPLE CHARACTERS •
Having multiple characters in OATH is not only allowed, but it is encouraged. Having more than four characters per handler might be pushing it but given that you don’t have to pump out promos every week we don’t have a rigid limit. Tag Team wrestling as well as Factions are a big part of the wrestling business and so to should they big a big part of OATH.
• EVENTS •
Our event format is weekly. New recruits start on Livewire, which airs on Wednesdays. The main show is called Conviction. Roughly every eight weeks we air an iPPV with Special Episodes of Conviction sprinkled throughout. Prior to iPPVs and special episodes of Conviction, Livewire is replaced with the kickoff show Catalyst. The aim is to build up the storylines to blow off at the iPPVs but that is not always the case. It is not a guarantee that you will be booked on every show so if you find that you do not have a match, DM Tommy Straker to discuss a segment/angle that you could contribute.
